At AIPC-PANDORA we understand volunteering as acts of collaboration in different programs or projects, carried out by people that share the same objectives and lines of thought as the organisation.

Concerning the commonly accepted definitions of voluntary action, we agree that voluntary work implies; willfulness, understood as the free choice of a person to offer their time and knowledge without expecting anything concrete in return; solidarity which arises from the commitment of a volunteer to participate in improving the social surroundings; actions such as making personal values and commitments as reality: and organisation insofar as the voluntary action must be organised and concrete in respect to what is carried out.

As well as the commonly recognised definitions, at AIPC-PANDORA we understand voluntary action as one of the most valuable examples that exercises Active Citizenship, understanding this as the balance of rights and duties that individuals must realize through knowledge, the enjoyment of and participation in economic, political and social life of a community.
