EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE

What does the European Voluntary Service consist of?
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is one of the actions (Action 2) of the Youth in Action programme, which is co-financed by the European Commission, and that requires three parties: a sending organisation, a volunteer and a host organisation.
This international mobility programme allows young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to carry out a voluntary project of 6 to 12 months with an NGO in any country in the European Union, in countries which are member of the European Economic Area, or in Turkey, a current candidate for adhesion. The types of projects are very varied, including arts, culture, social exclusion, youth or European information or the environment, among others.
You can see a description of all the projects on offer throughout Europe here: http://ec.europa.eu/youth/program/sos/hei/hei_en.cfm.
