The School Sponsorship Program in school Les Fruits d'Or, in Bamako (Mali), is the result of the experience of 11 volunteers who participated in an educational intervention project during the month of August 2009.

In a country where public education is virtually nonexistent, families who want their children to receive an education should be directed to private schools. Fruits D'Or School offers early childhood education to 102 students (52 boys and 50 girls) between 18 months and 8 years, and operates with very low annual fees. However, for many families, this is a huge financial effort. Many of the families can not meet payments once the child starts studying in the center. The center is facing a serious problem of deficit, which makes it difficult for the children to continue their education and for the school to provide their services regularly.
