European Voluntary Service (EVS)

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is one of the actions (Action 2) of the Youth in Action, funded by the European Commission and requires three parts: a sending organisation, a volunteer and a host organisation.

The international mobility program allows young people between 18 and 30 perform a volunteer project from 6 to 12 months in an NGO in any country of the European Union, member countries of the European Economic Area (Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) or Turkey. The areas of project development in NGOs are very diverse, from the social field with various groups, the arts, people at risk of exclusion, or European youth information, environment, culture and media, among others.

EVS is a program that aims to:

  • - Provide an experience of formal education and intercultural learning in a project in different areas and with multiple activities.
    - To promote solidarity, youth participation in society and local community development.
    - To promote relations between NGOs and the exchange of good practices.

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is open to all young people aged between 18 and 30 years.
